J. R. Maxon is a multiple national award-winning author, teacher, scientist, visionary, and longtime student of many spiritual traditions. His life's calling is to instruct, facilitate, and encourage positive change worldwide. J. R. currently writes in his childhood island home in Florida.

His first novel, ReBecoming: The Way of Opportunity has won 14 National and 4 International book awards, including the 2010 Benjamin Franklin Award for Publishing Excellence. His inspirational articles have been published in Indigo Sun Magazine.

J. R.'s professional background began with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Geology and Geochemistry. His career with two major oil companies included work as a geologist, geophysicist, and as both a regional and international Exploration Manager in global areas as diverse as the U. S. Gulf Coast, Alaska, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. His love of science has taken him back in time and into the depths of the Earth.

J. R. has studied with several highly revered spiritual teachers. He is a lifelong yoga practitioner, personal trainer, and rehabilitation specialist. Along with his other diverse interests, including climate change and astronomy, he has taught classes in geology, meditation, and most recently, hosted talks and workshops on the spiritual principles behind his recent book, ReBecoming: The Way of Opportunity.
